Lenten Opportunities
We always talk about giving things up for Lent. However, it has been found that more significant things happen in our faith journey with God when we take something on for Lent. Of course, to make time to take on something new, we often have to give up something else we would have been doing. Still, giving up things like sweets, alcohol, watching TV, or something else, is really just a way of addressing lifestyle issues that we should be changing anyway.

Tuesday Evenings
"The Practice of the Presence of God"
Tuesday Evenings, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 12 through March 18
In the Parish House

Our Tuesday adult education class will be starting a new book on February 12. Please join us for a Lenten exploration of The Practice of the Presence of God. This book is a collection of the conversations and letters of Brother Lawrence, a seventeenth century Carmelite lay brother who discovered God's presence in the daily tasks of his life at the monastery, from kitchen chores to caring for the monks' sandals. At less than 40 pages, this book is a wonderfully unintimidating Lenten discipline. We'll read approximately a page a day, and discuss once a week. Shape your Lenten season with medieval simplicity on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Parish House.or once again observing God's most gracious and compassionate deeds ever.
